  It is easy to argue that a new Government inherits assets and liabilities. While we accept that government is a continuum, by no means should any responsible administration accept without any form of recourse or examination the reckless actions deliberately done by previous administrations especially that of Rochas Okorocha that was characterized by serial abuse of power and zero Respect for court rulings. The ensuing imbroglio in the state between Independent Petroleum marketers and the state government is another of the myriad problems created by Okorocha for the Imo State Government, and as at today, Imolites are bearing the brunt. Seven members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have resigned from office. The party’s National Organising Secretary, Colonel Austin Akobundu (retd), confirmed this on Tuesday. But he said those who resigned from their offices are deputy members of the party’s NWC. However, they were thought to have taken the action to put pressure on the National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, to vacate his position. Those who resigned include: Deputy National Financial Secretary; Deputy Legal Adviser; Deputy National Auditor; Deputy National Publicity Secretary; Deputy Women Leader and the Deputy Organising Secretary. However, they were thought to have taken the action to put pressure on the National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, to vacate his position.
