LEAKED DOCUMENT: IMO STATE GOVERNMENT AFTER IRONA, OTHERS OVER GOVERNMENT VEHICLES IN THEIR POSSESSION

Information reaching us has it that the Imo State Government has written to the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command to immediately initiate actions to recover government vehicles in possession of the former Deputy Governor of Imo State Hon. Gerald Irona, Hon. Jones Onyeriri who was a former member representing Nkwerre Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and one Hon. Obinna Duruaku.


According to the leaked letter directed to the Commissioner of Police and signed by Mr. Uzoahia Benneth who is the Transport Officer, Imo State Government House, former Deputy Governor Irona is in possession of a Land Cruiser V8, Land Cruiser V6, Toyota Hilux whereas Hon. Jones Onyeriri and Hon. Obinna Duruaku each are in possession of a Ford Ranger.


The letter which was sent to the Commissioner of Police reads in parts “it is pertinent to state that all previous efforts to recover the above mentioned vehicles have proved abortive.” It continued in another paragraph “To this end, you are requested to use your good office to recover the said vehicles on behalf of Imo State Government.”


This is coming several days after some groups in the state has called on the state government to expedite actions on recovering all that was looted by the then Emeka Ihedioha’s administration of which the names mentioned above served in the said administration.
