Early this afternoon, the social media space was saturated with a video of the purported kidnapping of Mr. Uche Nwosu, the son-in-law of the Ex-Governor of Imo State Senator Rochas Okorocha in a church premises in Nkwerre, Imo State. There were wacky, specious and fringe narratives by the Okorocha clan of e-rats out there so bizarre in their illogic, absurdity and paranoia that would make anyone with common sense cringe and cower in stupefied astonishment and wonder.
The first question that should ordinarily agitate any sound mind interrogating the video would be: why would kidnappers storm a church in broad day light to kidnap a man being protected by a team of policemen, dare-devil thugs and brigands? It was while I was ruminating over this puzzle that the Imo State Police Command issued a statement owning the operation.
Sources at the State Police Command confirmed that Mr. Nwosu and others still at-large had been invited severally to report to the command for interrogations resulting from the outcome of the investigations regarding the security challenges in the state to no avail. Then, the unexpected happened. I got two very short clips of what was described as part of a long video detailing the involvement/complicity of Mr Uche Nwosu and others in the security challenges that ravaged the state until that decisive and immensely rewarding action by security agencies about two weeks ago, the revelation of which shocked the nation.
My take on the commendable arrest of Mr. Nwosu is not the product of a fertile and supple mind wandering into uncharted cognitive territory governed by fiction and conjecture, unaided by evidence and facts, bent on making connections to crime where none exits but is sadly based on facts.
THE FACTS:
The confessor in the video was arrested by security agencies during their operation based on credible intelligence. He is a notorious kidnapper, bandit, malefactor, supervillain, mugger, murderer and cannibal. Sources close to the investigation team disclosed that this anthropophaginian killer willingly confessed to his heart wrenching crimes and implicated several others among whom are Senator Rochas Okorocha, Mr. Uche Nwosu, Hon. Kingsley Uju, etc. Uche Nwosu who was directly implicated as always distributing money to gangsters terrorising the state vehemently refused to honour police invitations to throw some clarity on the allegations against him.
It is a high key embarrassment that men like Senator Rochas Okorocha who governed the state for eight years and now represents it in the Senate, Hon. Kingsley Uju who worked in an executive capacity in the state for several years and now represents it in the National Assembly and Mr. Nwosu who was both a Commissioner in the state and Chief-of-Staff to the EX-Governor and even strenuously sought to govern the state would have their names on the lips of a murderous villain. So sad!!!
Imo people should rejoice and thank God for the unraveling of the security crisis in the state. On Sunday, December 12, 2021 the clergy came together in Imo, prayed and subjected the architecture and prevalence of evil in the state to the supremacy of God’s will and the enthronement of good and peace. The next day, security agencies in the state arrested 30 suspected kidnappers and rescued some of their victims. Today is another Sunday and the highly anticipated day of reckoning for the troublers of our people has arrived. Rochas, Kingsley and Uche employed wide and varying machinations, deceptions, devices and schemes to defraud the state while in power. Upon all their atrocious abuse of power, they are also being fingered as the masterminds behind the security problems in the state. Sometimes, I wish that the saying “there is no smoke without fire” isn’t essentially true.
It is a crying shame that those who promised us heaven and joy but delivered hell and death don't want peace to reign in the state. The confessions in these short video clips show without any iota of doubt that the insecurity in Imo is being sponsored, financed and supported by evil minded and over ambitious politicians from the state who are fighting the loss of their vicious grip on the treasury of the people. The massacre of the innocents and the kidnapping of the vulnerables are the outcomes of deliberate and pre-determined designs to embarrass the state government and not just happenstances or misfortunes that befell us.
I really worry when I see or hear Okorocha engage in preachment or pretend to hear from God as if he was a deputy to Moses of the Old Testament. His vanity is so strong that he can even explode. If Rochas ever knows what is wrong, the sun can come out from the West. He must be made to understand that his performance of the scams he created for himself and his cronies in power are over. Imo people must prevail and triumph gloriously over their unprecedented wickedness.
The lesson in the arrest of Uche Nwosu is that criminals whether of the Chicago Mafia, the Sicilian La Costa Nostra, the Mexican Sinaloa Cartel, the Kenyan Mungiki, the Nigerian Boko Haram or the Unknown Gun Men operating in Imo State are the same. When cornered with irrefutable evidence, they hardly elect to go down alone. They sing like canaries and name their collaborators. Let those who are still engaged in sponsoring criminality in Imo State abandon their trade and run now.
The Police is determined to bring all criminals and their collaborators in the state no matter how highly placed to justice.
Imo people can only hope that the investigations would be thorough and the course of justice not perverted.
