RT HON EMEKA IHEDIOHA'S ACTION HAS CAUSED HARDSHIP FOR IMO TRADERS AND MARKETERS

IMO MARKETERS AND TRADERS WELFARE ASSOCIATION -RT HON EMEKA IHEDIOHA'S ACTION HAS CAUSED HARDSHIP FOR IMO TRADERS AND MARKETERS
The association noted with deep regret the leaked telephone conversation of the former Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha where he, in an unwholesome manner was govern for peace to reign," asserting that peace can only be restored if the current administration of Sen. Hope Uzodimma steps down. Recent developments with severe economic consequences have however prompted us to address key issues that portend a grave danger for the ease of doing business as well as the practice of marketing in Imo State. That by the leaked phone conversation of Emeka Ihedioha he has pledged to render Imo State ungovernable for Gov. Hope Uzodimma this has therefore, facilitated grave economic consequences for marketers and traders in the State especially with "the Monday "sit at home". Recall that countless marketers and traders have been harassed, beaten and lost their lives for simply making business transactions on Mondays. We note that IMO MARKETERS AND TRADERS WELFARE ASSOCIATION (IMTWA) has worked closely with the Government through the years, collaborating in various capacities, to support policy implementation, towards the growth and advancement of the State. That Imo marketers and traders have suffered untold hardship as a result of the selfish desperation for political benefits of Emeka Ihedioha who has colluded with non state actors to deny Imo traders the peace for ease of doing business and transporting safely themselves as well as their goods and services. As a body which represents a critical sector of the State we call on the State Government and Nigerian police to investigate properly the former speaker chief Emeka Ihedioha on being associated with insecurity that has demoralized businesses and livelihood in the state. We would want to reiterate that economic growth is better served in an atmosphere of collaboration, mutual respect, and trust. We therefore, enjoin the State Government and other relevant bodies to take action and protect Imo marketers and traders from untold hardship. SIGNED: CHAIRMAN CHIEF. EMMANUEL KALU SECRETARY MRS. MARGARET UZOMBA
