Onuimo Youth Leaders Call for Caution Against Sponsored Attacks on Rt. Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha
The Amalgamation of Youth Leaders from Onuimo Local Government Area of Imo State has called for caution against sponsored media attacks by unscrupulous elements seeking to distort the zoning narrative in Okigwe North and pit Onuimo against its sister local governments, thereby diminishing Onuimo's political fortunes. This stance was stated in a communiqué released after an emergency meeting on August 5, 2025, at Umucheke Okwe, Onuimo LGA.
The youth bodies described these sponsored attacks as unnecessary and untimely, noting that the 2027 election timetable has not been scheduled by INEC. They affirmed their support for Rt. Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha's leadership, highlighting her exemplary representation in the National Assembly, which has brought numerous dividends of democracy to Onuimo, surpassing the efforts of her predecessors. They expressed readiness to support her beyond 2027.
The youth leaders condemned the push by fictitious associations led by Kelechi Uzoma as a ploy to deceive the gullible, labeling his publications as mere fallacies rather than facts. They emphasized that the zoning arrangement has already commenced with Isiala Mbano in 2023 and that they will wait and select a credible youth to represent the Federal Constituency when their turn starts in 2031.
The youth group stated that Rt. Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha's aspirations align with the zoning pattern in Okigwe North Federal Constituency, noting that Onuimo's turn began in 1999 and concluded in 2007, followed by Okigwe, and then Isiala Mbano, which started in 2015 and ended in 2023 as the second phase started in 2023 already and will end in 2031. They declared that they will not support truncating ongoing projects like the Federal Medical Center in Okigwe, College of Nursing and midwifery Isiala mbano, massive empowerment of the youths through federal jobs, the huge infrastructure, facilitated by Rt. Hon. Miriam Onuoha.
