COMMUNIQUÉ BY ONUIMO YOUTH VOICE IN SUPPORT OF RT. HON. PRINCESS MIRIAM ONUOHA (NWANYI WU IHE)
We, the Onuimo Youth Voice, after due consultations and reflections on the recent press release by the Okigwe Zone Youth Mandate to Okigwe global elders and the official response of the Okigwe Zone Global Elders Forum, hereby issue this communiqué:
APPRECIATION TO THE ELDERS FORUM
We profoundly applaud the Okigwe Zone Global Elders Forum ably led by HRM Eze Dr. Oliver Ohanweh, alongside other revered leaders such as Prof. Maurice Iwu and Chief Tony Chukwu, for the remarkable maturity, balance, and wisdom with which they have continued to guide our dear Zone. Your unwavering support to Rt. Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha (Nwanyi Wu Ihe) has, to a very large extent, inspired her to translate your confidence into tangible achievements for Okigwe North and Okigwe Zone at large.
ON THE SO-CALLED “THIRD TERM” ALLEGATION
It is pertinent to state unequivocally that Rt. Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha has not declared any third-term bid for the House of Representatives, as rightly observed by the Elders Forum. The baseless allegation of a “third-term agenda” is nothing but a distraction, speculative in nature, and completely detached from empirical facts. We align fully with the Forum’s observation that such discourse is premature, unsubstantiated, and unnecessary at this stage. And also reaffirm that Hon. Princess Miriam Future aspirations will be supported by Onuimo Youth Voice.
THE REAL AGENDA: CONSOLIDATION THROUGH THE SENATE
Our position as Onuimo youth Voice is clear: the time has come for Okigwe Zone to consolidate on the milestone achievements already recorded in the House of Representatives. With landmark projects such as the establishment and gradual take-off of the Federal Medical Centre Okigwe, facilitation of federal employments for youths, road infrastructures, interventions in education and power supply, and groundbreaking bills for health institutions across the Zone, Rt. Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha has proven beyond doubt that she is a visionary Amazon and a pragmatic lawmaker.
The natural progression for such an achiever is not a step backwards, but a promotion to the Red Chamber (Senate) where she can leverage her experience, capacity, and legislative dexterity to deliver even more superlative dividends to Okigwe Zone and Imo State at large.
OUR CLARION CALL TO THE ELDERS
We therefore urge the Okigwe Zone Global Elders Forum not to be distracted by divisive rhetoric, clannish appeals, or premature politicking. The real demand of the time is unity of purpose. We call on our revered Elders to sustain and deepen their support for Rt. Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha, so that the flame of purposeful representation does not go dim but shines even brighter in the Senate.
A WORD TO FELLOW YOUTHS
As Onuimo Youth Voice, we enjoin our brothers and sisters across Isiala Mbano, Okigwe, and indeed the entire Okigwe Zone, to shun politics of bitterness and instead embrace the politics of development. The strength of today’s youth must be channelled not into campaigns of distraction, but into amplifying the ongoing efforts to reposition Okigwe Zone for greater glory, including our common aspiration to produce the next Governor of Imo State in 2027.
CONCLUSION
The reward for hard work is more work. Rt. Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha has worked, is still working, and deserves the opportunity to work more for our Zone at the Senate. As Patriotic Onuimo Youths, we reaffirm our total support to the Okigwe Zone Global Elders Forum and to Nwanyi Wu Ihe, confident that together, Okigwe Zone will rise higher and stronger.
Signed:
Comrd. Pastor Chukwuemeka Okpara
National President Onuimo Youth Voice
and Comrd.Ebere Duru (Secretary)
