* Orders recovery within six months * Araraume, Uche Nwosu,Anwuka to lose houses The Committee set up by Imo State Government for the recovery of land belonging to Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education (AIFCE), yesterday indicted former governor Rochas Okorocha for using brute force to disposses the college of its land. Submitting its report to Governor Hope Uzodimma, the committee recommended the recovery of the Shell Camp land from Okorocha and his associates within six months and hand the same over to AIFCE. The report which was signed by the Chairman,Prof Vitalis Orikeze Ajumbe and the secretary, Barr B F Anyanwu, regretted that Okorocha,as governor, used brute force including the military and hoodlums to snatch the land from the College after which he allocated or sold same to his top associates. In a stunning development, the Progressive Stakeholders of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State have distanced themselves from the party's gubernatorial candidate, Senator Samuel Anyanwu. In a letter dated 27th April, 2023 and signed by its Publicity Secretary, Chief Philip Udeagwu, the stakeholders made it clear that Anyanwu's candidacy had disintegrated the leadership and members of the party through his backdoor candidacy. The letter goes on to state that the PDP stakeholders believe that Anyanwu's candidacy will aid the victory of the ruling party and, in line with equity, he should either choose his National Secretary position or the gubernatorial candidacy. Attempts by the opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) to manipulate the results of the March 18th State Assembly election in Ahaiazu mbaise has been resisted by other political parties including the ruling All progressive congress. According to sources at the collation center, the PDP is working against the victory of the APC candidate, and despite a large margin of victory, they are refusing to concede defeat. The APC claims that the PDP is resorting to dirty tactics to try and alter the results in their favor or get tbe electoral umpire to declare the election inconclusive. A video circulating online shows a fight breaking out between members of the PDP, who are allegedly attempting to manipulate the vote.
